HMS Update - WoO Boot Hill Showdown

We had a decent weekend in Dodge City, KS with the World of Outlaws. There was speed in the car both nights in the A feature but qualifying hurt us. The first night I qualified 14th and ran 6th in the heat race. The track deteriorated quick with the hot temperatures and high winds. That meant that I would start the A feature from 14th and we tried something a little different with setup. For the first few laps I felt great and moved up to 10th about 3 laps in. I was going for 8th and 9th when a caution came out. I made a mistake and pulled the car out of gear thinking that it was a red flag so I had to tag the back on the restart. I got a few cars before it took rubber around the bottom about 5 laps later and at that point there was no passing. I ended up being one of a number of people to have a flat RR with the track conditions and so we ended the night 18th. The second time around on Saturday the track was quite a bit different. Early in qualifying and the heat races it was heavy and tough to pass. I qualified 17th and ran 6th again in the heat race. We ended up going with a similar setup to the night before with a few minor changes and it seemed to work again. Starting from 17th I passed up to 15th early on and rode there for most of the race. I got lapped with about 10 laps to go and there was a caution with about 5 to go. After the caution I was actually fast enough to pass a couple cars and start running down some others but it was not for position. I ended up finishing 15th and now I’m looking forward to some nonwing racing in a couple of weeks in El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM!
