46th Annual Western World Championships
The 46th Annual Western World Championships presented by Sands Chevrolet and the Racer’s Advantage Store is fast approaching with practice night two days away. Then, on Thursday and Friday, two preliminary nights will take to the 1/3 mile Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, AZ to qualify for the $7,500 to win finale on Saturday. Sunny skies and temperatures in the high 70s are expected making for perfect racing weather and there is over 80 cars entered in the midget and 360 non-wing sprint car classes.
We are excited to have the 2013 HARF Jimmy Caruthers Most Improved Driver of the Year Chad Boespflug piloting the Napa, Mesilla Valley Transportation 74x for this event and we have high hopes going into our qualifying night on Friday! Chad has 6 wins on the year against the best non-wing drivers in the country in Indiana and he also finished 5th in Indiana Open Wheel’s 2013 Driver Standings.
We will also have 2008 ASCS Rocky Mountain Champion and good friend Derrik Ortega on the wrenches this week. We’re happy to have his help and knowledge with us, and he will also be working on some video with several GoPros on the car.
