World of Outlaws Boot Hill Showdown @ Dodge City Raceway Park
This July 4th we are traveling like many other Americans across the nation and we are heading towards Dodge City, KS for the Boot Hill Showdown with the World of Outlaws this Friday and Saturday. This event last year was my first winged 410 event and it was a learning curve for sure but we were still able to get my best finish at a World of Outlaw event the second day, a result of 13th. I’m hoping to improve on that now that we have some 410 notes for that track and I have more experience under my belt. The last time we had the 410 under the hood was at the Salina Highbanks in Oklahoma but I think I’ll be able to get back in the swing of things fairly quickly.
A couple weeks from now we will be heading to El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM for a nonwing showdown between the NMMRA Sprint Cars and the USAC Southwest Series on July 19th and 20th. This same event in Las Cruces last year was one of my most memorable, getting to race with Charles Davis and Jeff Swindell for the lead as well as one of my childhood heroes, Rickey Hood, and I’m really excited to get back. I’m also excited to say that we will be traveling to Knoxville, IA this August for the 360 and 410 Knoxville Nationals along with possibly the Front Row and Ultimate Challenge in Oskaloosa, IA and the Capatini Classic at Knoxville. There is no feeling like racing at Knoxville and I have to thank Chuck Jackson for stepping up and helping us get there this year along with all our other supporters including Napa Auto Parts, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Momentum Racing Suspensions, Ortega’s Appliance, ButlerBuilt Seats, K & N, Wilwood, FK Rod Ends, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Smiley’s OKC, Benic Enterprises, The Oil Medics, Ostrich Racing Engines, Tim Palmer Graphic Design, Conroy Pneu Control, Hinchman Racewear, and Maxim Chassis.
