HMS Update - ASCS Speedweek @ KSP
After a weekend off we are back on the road again with the Napa, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Momentum Racing Suspensions 74x heading east to Texas. Tomorrow we will be racing with the ASCS National Tour at Kennedale Speedway Park which kicks off the 2013 ASCS Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek and we will also make the trip to Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday night. Unfortunately we will not be able to make the rest of the speedweek which runs on into next weekend but we are going to give it our best shot at continuing our streak of top 5’s. I have not yet cracked the top 10 with the ASCS National Tour but I have had one run last year at Western World at Canyon Speedway Park where I was running 4th when I cut a right rear tire. I think we have a good shot at running in the top 10 the way things have been going and my confidence behind the wheel is improving with the success.
The ASCS National speedweek trophy was recently named the Bob Westphal Memorial Trophy with the passing of Bob this past week. I’m glad we got to know Bob and he had such an impact on so many racers. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to Jason Leffler’s family. Jason lost his life in a sprint car accident last night in New Jersey.
