HMS Update - Salute to Indy @ Canyon Speedway Park
After planning on racing the winged 360 this weekend in Kansas, we changed our mind and are now heading west towards Canyon Speedway Park for a couple of USAC Southwest events this Saturday and Sunday. The weather in Kansas was too unpredictable to travel that far so last minute we swapped things over to go nonwing racing in the desert. This pair of races is dubbed the “Salute to Indy” and falls on one of the greatest weekends in motorsports, Memorial weekend. It has been awhile since we last raced nonwing with the 360, in fact it was the first weekend of February and it did not end well, with 2 DNF’s. We’re looking to turn that around and make a good weekend out of it, and also try and carry some of the momentum we’ve built up in our wing program. If everything clicks and I can transition to the nonwing car quickly, I think that we can contend for a couple of top 5’s or even a win. Let’s hope that’s the case!
