Ross Robinson competes in Castrol doubleheader at Eldora and Brownstown
Taking part in the Castrol FloRacing Night in America season opener, Ross Robinson invaded Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Tuesday night to pilot his Stockley Materials No. 7 Late Model for the first round of the 13-race miniseries.
With a talented field of 54 Late Models amassed, Robinson missed a transfer spot by one car in his heat with a fourth-place finish but raced his way into the show with a consolation victory. With $23,023 on the line, Ross recorded a 20th-place finish in the 50-lapper.
For another $23,023-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event on Wednesday at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.), Ross’ eighth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into a B-Main for another shot at the A-Main. Needing to place second or better, Robinson advanced forward four spots but failed to qualify with a sixth-place outing.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) scheduled events for Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) and Macon Speedway (Macon, Ill.) on Friday and Saturday fell victim to Mother Nature.
