Robinson captures $3,026 Mark 'Coot' Williams Memorial at Georgetown

Ross Robinson raced to his first win of the 2023 season on Thursday night. He pocketed $3,026 for his winning performance in the Mark ‘Coot’ Williams Memorial at Delaware’s Georgetown Speedway aboard his Iron Source / Stockley Materials No. 7 DutchStar Motorsports / Frozen Farmer / SANY / Longhorn Chassis / Clements Race Engine Super Late Model.

“It’s always special to get to race at home and winning there is just that much sweeter. We are about to hit the road again as the season kicks into high gear, and this is a great shot in the arm to give us some momentum,” Robinson said. “It was cool to have Amanda out there racing with me on Thursday night as well. She sacrifices so much of her own racing career to support what I do. It was just a great night top to bottom, and a big thank you goes out to all my sponsors and supporters, who make this program possible.”

Thursday saw Ross and Amanda Robinson return to action at Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Del.) competing in the Mark ‘Coot’ Williams Memorial.

In a field of 17 entries, Ross outran Drake Troutman in his heat race to pick up the win, while Amanda crossed the line in fourth. Starting the feature in fourth, Robinson overtook race-long pacesetter Bryan Bernheisel on lap 21 and went on to win by more than a two-second margin to secure his first victory of the 2023 campaign.

He bagged a $3,026 payday ahead of Tyler Emory, Bernheisel, Drake Troutman, and Deshawn Gingerich.

Amanda recorded an eighth-place finish in the 25-lap affair.
