Strong All Star Performance in Florida
The 2014 sprint car season is officially underway for Chad Kemenah and the All Star Circuit of Champions. The start of the season was delayed three days because of rain but when it was time to go racing at the Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida Kemenah was ready.
The first night of racing was difficult for everyone but Kemenah charged through the field from his 17th starting position to finish in the 10th position when he took the checkered flag.
“We started deep in the field tonight and the track was pretty rough in some areas and all I wanted to do was try to stay out of trouble and finish in one piece,” said Kemenah. “We worked hard this winter to get our program ready for the upcoming season and to come out and start 17th in the feature and come away with a top ten finish is a good way to start the season hopefully we can keep this going tomorrow night.”
On Monday night Kemenah returned to the Bubba Raceway Park for the final night of racing the big ½ mile track. Kemenah timed in 11th quick and that would put him on the front row of the second heat race. The white No.63 sprinter was solid from start to finish in the short eight lap race and Kemenah would finish in the second position and transfer to the feature event later in the evening.
Kemenah pushed off for the feature event in the third starting position and with 30-Laps to work with he knew he had a good enough car to win the race. Kemenah took the green flag and immediately moved into second place right behind race leader Kerry Madsen. As the race continued Madsen slowly increased his lead lap after lap. Kemenah would search the track trying to find anything he could to cut into the No.29 lead but Madsen was just too strong. Madsen would go on to win the race and Kemenah would finish in second place.
“We had a good racecar tonight, Kerry Madsen was fast all night long and he drove a flawless race tonight,” said Kemenah. “I also have to thank the Bubba Raceway Park Track Officials they did everything they could to try and give us a great racing surface and they easily could have gave up but they didn’t and I am glad we were able to race. I have to thank everyone associated with our team this season because with out them we would not be able to do this deal and hopefully we can continue to run up front and win some races this season.”
