HMS Update - Knoxville Nationals

I apologize for the lack of updates the past few weeks. Here is a recap of our past month or so and our plans in the near future.

After a couple weekends off we are excited to say that we will be running both the 360 and 410 Knoxville Nationals this year in a couple of weeks in Knoxville, Iowa. I would like to give a big thank you to Royal at Mesilla Valley Transportation, Chuck Jackson, Manny, Annette, and Derrik Ortega, and Calvin Landis for stepping up and helping us make the trip. I would also like to thank all of our other supporters: Napa Auto Parts, Momentum Racing Suspensions, Smiley’s Racing Products, ButlerBuilt Seat Systems, K & N Filters, Wilwood Brakes, FK Rod Ends, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Conroy Pneu Control, Benic Enterprises, King Racing Products, Kronik Energy Drink, Tim Palmer Graphics, and Action Powder Coating.

In the past couple of months we have ran four World of Outlaws shows, two at Dodge City Raceway Park, one at the Belleville Highbanks, and one at Lakeside Speedway. They were my first races in a 410 and my first outing resulted in a 16th place finish. I went on to finish 13th the next night in Dodge City, 14th in Belleville, and 13th at Lakeside. It was neat to race the 410 and I learned a lot in that short period of time. We also visited U.S. 36 Raceway with the ASCS National guys and had some good speed throughout the night but unfortunately never made a lap in the A feature after getting caught up in a lap 1 wreck, resulting in a DNF. After that, our most recent race was a weekly 360 show at Knoxville Raceway. Although I have been to the track several times before, this was my first time racing on it. The end result was a 17th place finish but the car was much faster than our finishing position. The last 5 laps I passed several cars and felt that I got really comfortable in the car.

Now we are looking to head back to Knoxville to race this Saturday’s (July 28th) weekly 410 show to try and get some laps in the 410 before the 52nd Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals. The next week, I will kick of my first Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals on Friday, August 3rd. With enough luck, I hope to be in a decent position for the Saturday night features and end up with a good experience. Depending on what happens, we may try and race Sunday with the weekly 410’s or we may regroup for the 410 Nationals. We will qualify for the 410 Knoxville Nationals on Thursday, August 9th and the finale is Saturday, August 11th. You can keep up with us on www.knoxvilleraceway.com for the weekly shows and for the 410 Knoxville Nationals and on www.racinboys.com for the 360 Knoxville Nationals.
