HMS Update - Texas Thunder Speedway

The weekend of racing is all wrapped up for us with the ASCS Gulf South after visiting the Texas Thunder Speedway yesterday in Killeen, TX. The night started off well with me pulling the #4 pill and starting second in the first heat. The high banked bullring ¼ mile was heavy in turns one and two and slick with a cushion in turns 3 and 4. I got out to the early lead and although I was pretty tight on one end of the track, I was pretty good on the other end and got the heat race win. That put us into the top-8 redraw where I drew #8 to start outside the fourth row of the feature. The track didn’t change a whole lot from the heat to the start of the feature other than a black streak through turns one and two on the bottom. I took off for the feature and had a pretty good start up off turn 4 but a car that was inside of me got caught up in a rut and got out of shape. I tried to maneuver around him but a car behind me got into my rear bumper and pushed me up over one of his tires and I got turned upside down. I was disappointed that the night ended so quickly because I felt like we had a car to win coming off a good run the day before and after winning the heat. We’re still deciding where we will head next but we’ll update the website when we know.
