PRUNTY SWEEPS SLINGER UMA 602 OUTLAW TOUR EVENTS
Slinger WI 7/31/22-Dennis Prunty Claimed the UMA 602 Outlaw Late Model Tour event Sunday night at Slinger Super Speedway giving him a season sweep of both Tour events held at the world's fastest quarter mile this season. Clayton Storey and Steven Schulz brought the field to the line for the 35 lap main event. Schulz would gain the early advantage. Immediately the two fastest qualifiers Dennis Prunty and Rob Braun started picking off spots moving through the field. Caution came out at lap 6 for 67 of Clayton Storey evaporating the lead built by Schulz. The green after the restart would not lay long as 2nd place competitor Kevin Kulka would have a suspension failure on entry to turn three, he would make heavy contact with the wall bursting into flames and bringing out a lengthy red flag. Kulka would immediately exit the car under his own power and be unharmed. After the green Schulz would gain and build the lead as Prunty would clear Alex Hartwig for second. Prunty would catch Schulz and make the pass on the outside with 16 laps to go. From there the Slinger Speedway veteran would pull away to a convincing victory. After a spirited 4-way battle for second place, Rob Braun would take the spot over Steven Schulz, Travis Dassow and Alex Hartwig. The nights’ fast dash went to Travis Dassow and the heat race was won by Brian Johnson Jr. Rob Braun was your fast qualifier with a lap of 12.168 Next stop up for the 602 Outlaw Late Model Tour is a big stop at Wisconsin’s Fastest Half Mile Madison International Speedway on August 26th as part of the Howie Lettow Classic.
