DeANGELIS SCORES IN FALLOWEEN OPENING ACT
Wisconsin Dells WI-John DeAngelis Jr. powered to a big win in the first of two Wehrs Machine and Racing Products Falloween 75 lap feature. Steve Apel and DeAngelis Jr. would bring a stacked 22 car field to the green flag. Deangelis would take the early advantage and start to build a large lead as the battle raged behind him. Alive for Five point leaders Gabe Sommers and Casey Johnson would start their climb from midfield almost immediately as Jordan DeVoy and Ryan Farrell battled for the real estate to go after JD7 who had built nearly a straightaway lead. As Farrell and DeVoy settled the battle Sommers and Johnson found themselves right there in the fight. Sommers would make easy work of the pack and set his sights on DeAngelis Jr. with less than 15 to go and a little over a second disadvantage to overcome Sommers was joined by Johnson in an all-out assault on the historic 1/3 mile paved oval in pursuit of the leader. They would arrive at the rear spoiler of the 7 with a mere 3 laps to get it done. Sommers would exhaust every option to attempt the pass as Johnson watched from third. Johnny DeAngelis Jr. would prove too resilient for Sommers to overcome as he would win the fight to the line and take the victory wire to wire. DeAngelis Jr. was followed to the line by Gabe Sommers, Casey Johnson, Ryan Farrell, and Jordan DeVoy.
