Plowboy Nationals expands to Three-Day Weekend

Spoon River Speedway is excited to announce the expansion of the Plowboy Nationals weekend, scheduled for August 30, 31 and September 1, 2024. The three day event will feature E-Mods chasing a $2,500 top prize on both Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s finale will pay $5,000 to win. Hornets will be competing all three nights as well, with $500 to win features on both Friday and Saturday, and will culminate with the Sunday event paying $1,000 to win. "We're excited to add to our traditional Labor Day weekend event for the the Modifieds and give the E-Mod and Hornet drivers a big show", said promoter Tim Neidig.

The E-Mod and Hornet divisions will be open to competitors from all sanctions (UMP, IMCA, USRA, etc.) Your car must adhere to the rules of your sanctioning body - with the MSD chip NOT TO EXCEED 6500.

Pre-registration for the event is recommended. The entry fee for the weekend for E-Mods is $300, which includes a 3-Day Pit Pass and Transponder Rental. Hornets will also see an entry fee of $200, which also includes a 3-Day Pit Pass and Transponder Rental. Drivers can complete the Pre-registration form listed on the website to expedite the process on race day. Registration can be done at the track on race day as well.

Friday’s program will feature the aforementioned E-Mods and Hornets, as well as UMP Modifieds competing for $1,500 to win in a 25-Lap shootout. E-Mods will run a 30-Lap A-Main with the top eight finishers locking into Sunday’s 50-Lap $5,000 to win event. The Top-10 finishers in Friday’s 15-Lap Hornet feature will lock themselves into Sunday’s $1,000 to win 20-Lap A-Main event.

Saturday will see a complete program with E-Mods, Hornets and UMP Pro Late Models, paying $800 to win. E-Mods will again run 30-Laps that will see the top eight finishers lock into Sunday’s main event. The top-10 finishers in Saturday’s 15-Lap Hornet feature will transfer to Sunday’s $1,000 to win 20-Lap A-Main event. Pro Late Models will contest a 25-Lap feature event.

Sunday’s annual running of the Plowboy Nationals will see the return of the MARS Championship Series Late Models and Modifieds. Both MARS divisions will compete for $5,000 to win. Last Chance showdowns and A-Mains will be contested for the E-Mods and Hornets.

More information about the Labor Day weekend event will be released in the coming days.
