Salina Highbanks Speedway
New Voice to Announce at the Highbanks!
If you were at the track Saturday night or were watching on FansCHoice.tv you might have noticed a new voice coming over the airwaves. As of late yesterday afternoon The Highbanks has acquired the talented voice of Jesse Webb as the new voice of the Highbanks. Jesse started his career racing in 2011 in an enduro car at Thunderbird Speedway and eventually ended up running a complete season in the Pure Stock division at the same track.
As for developing his knack for announcing he come by that honestly. His father Lightning Lou Kelley has been a voice for many years on radio and around the racing scene. Jesse spent many fall nights in 2012 and 2013 calling The Game of the Week for local radio station 101.7 Okie Country where they followed many local football teams. He has announced several local venues that include the AMA Extreme Dirt Championship Series and currently is the Assistant Announcer at Outlaw Motor Speedway. In a statement last night Jesse said " Outlaw has a wonderful venue to not only watch but to call races. I myself have seen the growth of many talented competitors at the track and I have myself grown as an announcer and have become a part of the racing community. Getting the opportunity to announce for the Salina Highbanks is an honor! I love the sport of racing and consider the drivers, drivers families, track personal and fans to be part of my family."
As a track we look forward to welcoming Jesse as a part of the Highbanks Family. Now you may wonder what is happening to Deylaney Erickson? Well he will still be here in the #44 A modified. He is looking forward to getting back in the race car and on the track. He would like to thank everyone for the opportunity he has had to announce the races and said don't think you have heard the last of him. Its possible he might have to pop in from time to time just to keep his vocal chords in shape in case he is needed to fill in! Tell Big D thanks the next time you see him and when you get the chance help us welcome Jesse to the family!
