Merced Speedway
Dotson, Ryland, Johnson, Myrick, and Jeppesen Score John Fore Dirt Nationals Wins
(PETERSEN MEDIA- Merced, CA)- A great car count was on hand over the weekend as the curtain came down on Merced Speedway’s 2019 season, and inaugural campaign under S&S Promotions leadership. When it was all said and done, Ethan Dotson, Fred Ryland, Cody Johnson, Dan Myrick, and Riley Jeppesen claimed wins in their divisions.
Saturday night 26 IMCA Mod’s checked in for action and when the dust settled it was Ethan Dotson claiming the big win. Dotson was able to beat Dylan Thornton, Tim Balding, Bobby Hogge IV, and DJ Shannon to the line to claim the weekend’s top prize.
27 IMCA Sport Mods also helped packed the pit area and it was a familiar face taking home the season finale win as Fred Ryland parked in victory lane. Ryland secured the win over Chase Thomas, Michael Johnson, Patti Ryland, and Randy Brown.
A large field of 34 Hobby Stocks took part in the John Fore Dirt Nationals, and when the dust settled it was Cody Johnson celebrating in victory lane after a hard fought win over Bruce Nelson, Domossie Scoggins, Bubby Shepherd, and Jay Gallaher.
Dan Myrick best the 18 car Mini Stock field. From his front row starting position, Myrick cruised to the win over Jeff Durant, Dakota Keldsen, Gene Glover, and Greg Baronian.
It was all about Riley Jeppesen in Mini Late Model action. Winning his heat, Jeppesen would win the feature over Timmy Crews, Kaylin Lopez, Logan Clay, Carson Gutherie, and Kennzzie Brown.
Friday night was also a full night of racing action with wins going to DJ Shannon in IMCA Mod action, Troy Foulger in IMCA Sport Mod competition, Kevin Irwin bested the Hobby Stock class while Chris Corder won the Mini Stock feature.
With the waiving of the Saturday night checkered flag, it also marks the close of the 2019 season. S&S Promotions would like to extend a huge thank you to the teams and fans that made this season possible.
