Saturated Facility Forces Cancellation of Race Friday April 5, Potential Replacement Date
CHICO, Calif., April 4, 2024…The onslaught of a long-lasting Thursday rain mixed with the already saturated pit area and racetrack, forced the cancellation of tomorrow night’s race on April 5th. The potential for additional bad weather, super cold temperatures, and the lack of sunshine in the next 24 hours ended any hopes of trying to race Friday night. “We’ve been up here since Tuesday doing what we can, working in the track and pit area to provide the best, safest surface we can, but after today’s rain and no real relief in sight, we need to cancel. We also want to get the information out earlier than later to help with the out-of-town teams that were coming to race tomorrow,” said Brad Sweet of SLC Promotions.
SLC Promotions and the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds are currently working on an alternative date that will hopefully be announced soon. “We must check with the Fairgrounds schedule and see it that works for them, and for our teams and drivers. Then we need to look at the other tracks schedules to make sure we don’t conflict with anyone else,” said Colby Copeland of SLC Promotions.
Fans who purchased tickets online for this race will get that refunded to the payment that was used to purchase the tickets.
