July 4th Festivities Held at Silver Dollar Speedway
CHICO, CA (6-30-14) -Â Spectacular auto racing and gigantic fireworks are on display this Friday night, July 4th, at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. Grass roots dirt track racing combined with end of the night enormous fireworks that light up Butte County's darkened sky has been a long standing Chico tradition. Adding to the event will be patriotic themed displays, music and food. The July 4th celebration of America's Independence will create lifelong family moments and memories. Kids 11 and under will be admitted free with a parent.
To avoid waiting in long lines on race day, fans can purchase tickets before July 4th at four local Riebes Auto Parts locations. Those locations include 175 East 20th St and 2432 Cohasset Rd in Chico, 5990 Clark Road in Paradise and 2950 Myers St. in Oroville. Tickets may also be purchased on race day at the track.
Pit gate will open at 3 pm on July 4th. Front gate is scheduled to open at 5 pm with racing slated for 6 pm start time. Adult general admission price is $16.00. Juniors are $12.00. Kids 11 and under are free.
Local radio stations The Wolf 95.7fm and The Hippo 93.9fm will be giving away free tickets to this event. Please tune in for your chance to win free July 4th tickets.
Five racing divisions will compete during Tri Counties Bank point race #10 on July 4th. The powerful winged 410 sprint cars, economy sprints, street stocks, dirt modifieds and mini stocks will converge on the clay oval quarter-mile mecca of mud. Over 60 drivers are expected to participate on this special night of racing.
