Practice Under the Lights this Friday at Silver Dollar Speedway
CHICO, CA (2-17-14) -Â For the first time in 2014, the familiar roar of race cars will hit the famed quarter-mile clay oval speedway on Friday night, February 21st. Promoter Dennis Gage is offering a special early opportunity for race car drivers and teams to test and tune their equipment for the upcoming racing season. It marks the earliest "playdate" in recent memory at the speedway and will give locals and out of town fans a chance to see some mudslinging action.
All racing divisions are invited for this Friday nights practice session. The pit gate will open at 4 pm. Gage wants to have cars hit the track starting at 6 pm sharp. A four hour window is slated for all of those teams wanting a golden opportunity to turn some laps. At 10 pm the lights will be shut off and the night will be concluded. The pit cost is $25.00.
Another "playdate" is scheduled for March 2nd. Starting times for that practice session is noon to 4 pm. Pit fees will also be $25.00.
The real season kicks off March 7th and 8th with the Silver Cup. Dirt modifieds, 360 sprint cars and wingless sprints will race for elevated winnings.
