Rain forces cancellation of USMTS Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout at Lucas Oil Speedway
By Lyndal Scranton (Wheatland, MO) -- Heavy mid-day rain with the forecast of more throughout the evening and overnight hours forced cancellation of Saturday night's 8th Annual USMTS Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout Presented by Foley Equipment at Lucas Oil Speedway.
The event, part of the United States Modified Series Hunt for the Casey's Cup, will not be made up.
"We hate to call it, but we don't really have a choice," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said. "We've had so much rain already with a Flash Flood Watch already in place throughout Sunday morning that it's in everyone's safety and best interest to make the early call."
Tyler Wolff of Fayetteville, Ark., and Stormy Scott of Las Cruces, N.M., captured the first two feature wins on the Hunt for the Casey's Cup. Zack VanderBeek of New Sharon, Iowa captured last year's Show-Me Shootout over Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, Iowa.
Up next: After a busy stretch of events over the last month, Lucas Oil Speedway takes a scheduled week off next weekend before roaring back into action on Saturday, Aug. 19 with the next-to-last Big Adventure Weekly Racing Series program of the season.
TA/Petro along with The Ozarks CW & Ozarks Sports Zone Present Fan Appreciation Night with Food and Drink Specials all night long.
