Mother Nature Continues to Plague Speedway; Track Suffers Sixth Rain Out of Season

Jamaica, VA – Mother Nature will just not let up. With the facility ready for a night of racing the storms moved in with heavy rains and lightning forcing officials at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway to cancel racing activities for Xtra 99.1 | MetroCast Business Services Night on Saturday July 30, 2016. It is the sixth rain out of the 2016 season.

The Speedway will now switch gears and get ready for Ernie Shelton’s 40th Annual Aaron’s USA 100 presented by Commonwealth Motorsports. The event will feature the Ultimate Super Late Model Series competitors in a 60 lap feature paying $20,000 to win. The event will also include a $3000 to win, 40 lap FASTRAK National Tour event for Pro Late Model drivers as well as the Trucking Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock Cars in Aaron’s Dirt Series Championship weekly action.

Some of the best Dirt Super Late Model drivers on the East Coast will be in attendance trying to pick up the huge $20,000 check and take their place in history.

The USA 100 is the fourth and final round of the Colonial Clash Championship presented by Dirt Nation. The 4-race mini series has previously visited Georgetown Speedway, Winchester Speedway and Potomac Speedway. The Colonial Clash Championship boasts a $17,000 point fund that will pay $5000 going to the champion. Currently Dale Hollidge of Mechanicsville, MD leads Walker Arthur of Forest, VA by a slim 3 points heading into the final event. The point fund will pay the top 15 drivers as long as they have attempted all four events. Visit www.colonialclash.racing for more info.

Admission price for Adults $30, seniors (60+) $25; military (active/retired w/ proper I.D.) $20, students 11 – 17 years old $15 and children 10 and under admitted free. Pit passes will be $35.

16� coolers are welcomed but no glass is allowed. There is plenty of free lit parking and camping (no hookups) is allowed at no charge on a first come first served basis.
