Cottage Grove, Oregon- It’s once again time for one of the most special nights of racing on the 2019 schedule at Cottage Grove Speedway, Historical Night. The race, to be held on Saturday, July 20th, honors the long and rich past of the historic ¼-mile clay oval. Also, during the evening the newest class of Wall of Fame inductees will be recognized. This race will be held in the memory of Curt Deatherage who was the co-founder of this event over a decade ago.

Karts will officially kick the weekend off on their big return on Friday, the 19th. Classes racing on Saturday night include the Todd’s Auto Body Sprint Cars, Mohawk Metal IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, Street Stocks, and Hornets.

On Friday for Karts the Pit Gates open at 3:00 PM and the Pit Meeting (with Hot Laps/Racing to follow) at 6:00. General Admission is FREE, Pit Passes $10.00, and Car/Driver Entry $35.00. On Saturday the Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 3:30, and Time Trials at 5:30 with Racing beginning at 6:00. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults, Seniors/Juniors/Military $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children (5 & Under) are FREE. Kinzer Cox, Ian Bandey, Camden Robustelli, and Jared Hood all have won once. In the Mohawk Metal IMCA Modifieds, Collen Winebarger has shown his dominance with four separate trips to victory lane, which leads the class. Jake Mayden is a two-time winner with Bricen James, Kevin Williamson, Jesse Williamson, Derick Young, Eric Ashley, and Kellen Chadwick scoring a single victory each.

In the IMCA Sport Mods, Braedon Hand has been victorious in the last three races. Hand swept the entire Freedom Cup during Independence Day weekend. Drivers with two triumphs in the division include Gavin Ropchan, Jorddon Braaten, and Matt Sanders. Buddy McHargue, David Schmidt, and Skyler Winebarger all have one win to their names. David Schmidt leads the victory column in the Street Stocks with two trips to victory lane. Kelly McDonald, Brian Cronk, and Justin Evans all have managed to park it on the front stretch as well. Finally, in the Hornets, there is a four-way tie for the most successes.
