DEMO DERBY SEPTEMBER 16TH - WINNER TAKE ALL

Who's ready for some beating and banging at the Speedway?!?! The demolition derby is coming September 16th and we are ready to crash some cars! Entry fee is 50.00 and the winner will take it all home. Rules are posted below, so get you a good ole beater and bring it down to Cottage Grove Speedway to destroy it and take home some cold hard cash!!

2017 Demolition Derby Rules
All Cars Must Be Pre-Teched! Pre Tech opens at 4:00

Bodies
Open to any full size passenger car or station wagon, Hearse ambulance, jeeps, convertibles, delivery vans or pickup trucks are not permitted.
All glass must be completely removed from each window. The front window may be replaced with clear Lexan or wire mesh.
All glass in the headlights and or taillights must be removed.
All falloff parts must be removed
Doors must be secured shut, chained or bolted shut with minimum 1/4 inch bolts. Driver side door must be welded shut.
Body may not be reinforced in any way except the driver side door. Bumpers must remain in stock location and may not be reinforced. External nerf bars or rub rails are not permitted.
No trailer hitches or tow mounts.
Fenders must be attached to the car, some trimming is allowed. Grills may be removed. Rearview mirrors must be removed.
The hood and roof may be modified for the addition of decorative addons such as teeth, skulls eyes, etc.

Engines
Radiator must be in stock location and may not have protective reinforcement. Use of a fan not required.
All cars must self-start.
Batteries must be removed from the stock position and mounted behind the driver’s seat, or on the passenger side floor board in a leak proof container. Must be secured well to the floor
Frames and Suspension
Frame may not be reinforced in any way.
Suspension parts must be stock for make/model of car and fully functional. Shocks, springs, and or spindles may not be modified.
Seat mounts may be reinforced and factory seat may be replaced with and aluminum racing seat.
One bar or plate may be bolted between the doorposts and behind the driver.

Bar may not be larger than four inches O.D. and must be bolted or welded to the doorposts with a minimum of four 3/8 inch bolts.
Fuel System
Stock gas tank must be removed from the car and replaced with a fully enclosed racing fuel cell or marine type gas tank (maximum capacity may not exceed 5 gallons).
Fuel cell must be securely fastened to the floor of the passenger compartment.
Electric fuel pumps are not permitted unless O.E.M.
Driver Compartment and Trunk
Seat belts are required and the use of a five point racing harness is recommended.
Seat back must be securely held in an upright position (no reclining seats)
All cars must have a fire extinguisher on board. Fire extinguisher must be securely fastened within reach of the driver.
All drivers must wear a helmet goggles gloves long pants and a long sleeve shirt.
Trunk must be empty and be able to be inspected
Flammable materials inside vehicle must be removed, with the exception of the driver seat.
Must have well marked shut off switch that will shut down all power to the car.

Tires:
No studded tires or chains allowed

Demolition Derby Race Procedures
All cars are competing as long as they are moving. After sitting idle or not making contact for two minutes the car is disqualified.
The last car moving will be declared the winner.
No driver may deliberately strike another car in the driver side door. This action will result in an immediate Disqualification.
Any car leaving the designated racing area will be disqualified.
Driver must stay in the car until the event is concluded or instructed to get out of the car by a race official.
All cars must be removed from Cottage Grove Property at the conclusion of the nights race’s.
Any driver that appears to be impaired will not be allowed to run.
Decals or lettering deemed offensive or detrimental to the betterment of the sport is prohibited.
A clear number must be on both sides of the car and must be at least 18” and a contrasting color
Any car that catches on fire will be black flagged.
Cars must have a flag attached that can be broken off when they are done

Officials have final say in all calls!!!
