Cottage Grove Speedway
Ladies Night & 4th of July Race Recap:
Cottage Grove Speedway had 3 nights of racing action for 4th of July weekend!
Things kicked off Friday, June 30th with another round of kage karts. Steven Bounds, Jake Redmond, Ian Whisler, Kyle Roles, and Destiny Smith all took home the wins for Friday night kart action.
Quality RV Hornets raced the first 2 nights of the 3 night Quality RV Hornet Cup. Burnie Bryant and Joe Maricle picked up wins on night 1 and 2. Maricle is currently leading points going into the final night of Cup action on July 8th!
IMCA Sportmods also competed for 2 of the 3 nights for the Freedom Cup. Night 1 was won by Jorddon Bratten and night 2 went to Daniel Ray, separating them by only 1 point for Freedom Cup standings.
Street Stocks and Late Models were only scheduled for Saturday. Jody Tanner took home the street stock trophy and Trevor Glaser won the Late Models after a 3 year hiatus from racing.
Todd’s Auto Body Sprints competed both days for the Extreme Shootout. Saturday’s win went to Ricky Ashley, Tuesday’s main event went to Tyler Thompson. The cars then lined up with a complete point invert for a 20 lap shoot out race! In the end Kinzer Cox picked up the shootout win and became the overall point champion.
Racing action is back this Friday, July 7th with another dose of kage karts and Saturday, July 8th for the Herz Precision Parts Wingless Nationals, the final night of competition for the IMCA Sportmod Freedom Cup and Quality RV Hornet Cup, and Late Models will be back in action too.
