Cottage Grove, Oregon- IMCA Modifieds are one of the most popular and widespread classes in the United States. They have been a staple at Cottage Grove every single season since 1992 and are the second oldest class still running at the historic ¼-mile clay oval.
Curtis Towns was able to score his second career Modified title in 2015 with a healthy forty-seven-point margin over the runner-up. He would post four wins and fourteen top five finishes in eighteen starts. He returns to defend his championship but in a brand new car.
This year will see some new drivers making the jump up from the Sport Mod ranks which will be quite interesting. Several other chauffeurs will be making their returns but in new equipment. The title really is up for grabs in 2016 and with twenty dates they’ll be in action. Some major big races include the annual Modified Speedweek event, on June 14th, and the prestigious Modified Nationals two-day affair on July 22nd and 23rd. The first IMCA Modified race is April 9th.
