Cottage Grove Speedway would be in action on Saturday September 12th for Remembering 9/11 Night. In addition to the Northwest Wingless Tour racing at the historic 1/4-mile clay oval so were the IMCA Sport Mods, Dwarf Cars, and Late Model Lites. A great car count was on hand in the pits including thirty-seven Dwarf Cars.

In the IMCA Sport Mods Central Point chauffeur Jorddon Braaten was a dominant force to deal with. Braaten would capture the lead on lap fifteen and stayed there the rest of the way. It would the third time this year that Braaten and his Braaten Painting/Quench & Drench Car Wash/Miller Paint Company/Cloud Maintenance #84 Dirt Works has visited the winner's circle at CGS.

As mentioned above a wonderful turnout of Dwarf Cars were in attendance. Medford's Ryan Smith led the feature for so much of the distance only to be put under pressure and passed late. Smith, in his Hugs & Kisses Daycare/RevTuning & Performance #26S entry, would be passed on lap twenty-five. C.J. Putnam from White City was the driver to get by Smith but Smith would get back around him on lap twenty-six.

Putnam managed to get past Smith again on lap twenty-seven. From that point on Putnam would secure the lead and would take off from the rest of the field. It would be a clean sweep for Putnam and his Visual EFX Sign & Graphics/Biomass One/Linder Powdercoating #14 team as he won the dash and his heat race earlier in the night.

Finally the Late Model Lites were on hand for their final race of the season. The Panel Machinery & Controls #66 machine of Eric Aos from Milwaukie would obtain the top spot on lap four and stayed their. It was his first win of the season.

Cottage Grove Speedway returns to racing action on Friday September 18th for the Kage Karts for their Championship Night. Then the 1/4-mile will be back for St. Jude Night, where there will be a charity auction with all money raised going to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. Classes racing include the 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and the Pro 4's. There also will be a Powderpuff race to cap the night off.
