Cottage Grove, Oregon- Cottage Grove Speedway will host two exciting and action-packed races this weekend. Everything starts on Friday July 17th as the Kage Karts will be in action for the fourth time in 2015. Then Saturday the 18th will be Bohemia Mining Days Miner's Night at the historic 1/4-mile.
Classes racing include the Clark Printing Extreme Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, and Quality RV Repair Hornets. There will be a $25.00 Car Load Special on Saturday which means a car load, truck load, or even a RV load of fans get in just for $25.00. What a great deal!
General admission to the Kart race will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $30.00. The Pit Gate will open up around 3:00 PM and the Pit Meeting is at 6:00 PM with Hot Laps and Racing to follow.
Last week a new winner emerged in the Clark Printing Extreme Sprints. Patrick Dills would win last Saturday to join the current win chart in the division. That list is still dominated by Dave Hibbard who has scored four wins in six starts. Colby Carter is the only other victor with his one triumph in mid-May.
With Jesse Williamson's victory at the Mark Howard Memorial Cottage Grove Speedway Modified Nationals he is now the all-time winner in 2015 with four wins. Kinzer Cox has managed three while Curtis Towns has won two. Single race winners include Braedon Hand, Jason Kocks, and Mark Carrell.
The IMCA Sport Mods will be back at it on Saturday after a week off. Gene Ashley still has a good winning average with four triumphs in five starts. Jimmy Owen is the only other race winner. The car count in this class keeps increasing week after week.
June 27th was the last occasion that the Quality RV Repair Hornets were in action. After several weeks off the class is ready to get back to it. Joe Maricle is that top of the win chart with four visits to the winner's circle and Brandon Letsom has managed to get there twice. Single race winners include Josh Corley, K.C. Scott, Jim Simmons, and Dan Jenkinson.
Admission prices are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, 5 & Under FREE, and a Family Pass (consisting of two adults and up to four youths) is $35.00. Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Qualifying 5:30, and Racing begins right around 6:45. For more information log on to www.cottagegrovespeedway.com.
