NELMS To Return To CGS For Two Nights Of Racing

Cottage Grove, Oregon- The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series is ready to get back to racing after last weekend's Baseline Pawn Firecracker 100 at Sunset Speedway Park. The tour will visit Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday July 10th and Saturday the 11th for two nights of racing at the historical 1/4-mile clay oval. The series already made one trip to the facility earlier in the year back in May. It should be a great addition to the already exciting lineup to the Mark Howard Memorial Cottage Grove Speedway Modified Nationals.
The local Late Models will also be in attendance for both dates. Curtis Towns leads the charge with five victories in 2015 at CGS. Drivers who have won once include Joey Tanner, Jesse Williamson, Bricen James, and Justin Duty. Will another series regular defeat the Open engine contention?
Historically the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series has visited CGS a handful of times, five occasions to be exact. In those five races the aforementioned Joey Tanner won back in early May, Shawn Mayea won the only race last year, and Collen Winebarger swept the two visits in 2013. Billy Workman Jr. is the only other driver to have won at “The Grove” as he picked up the win in the tour’s inaugural visit back in 2011.
