Coming off of a big victory at Willamette Speedway on Saturday June 6th Salem's Jeremy Shank can't wait for the Wild West Modified Shootout. Shank, driving the Left Coast Motorsports/South Pacific Auto Sales and Service Center/Bilstein Shock by Left Coast #30 Swartz, will however have to wait just a little bit before taking on some of the best IMCA Modified chauffeurs in the Western United States. He will catch the tour at Cottage Grove Speedway and follow it the rest of the way. Despite not racing a lot his Strawberry Cup victory at Lebanon was only his fourth start of 2015 and now has won that race two years in a row.

“The Bill Mills (at Madras Speedway) didn't go too well and at Banks we had a braking issue right off of the bat,” said Shank, “but I think we have a handle on it now.”

Shank has had quite a bit of success through the years in not only Modifieds but also Late Models. He is a former Late Model track champ at Willamette and won a championship with the now defunct Pacific Coast Dirt Late Model Series back in 2004. He also was the 2009 and 2011 Northwest I-5 DIRTcar Late Model series champion. The biggest win of his Modified career came in 2013 at Gray Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington during the Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals.

“I think we will have have a good car,” he would continue, “the biggest thing is to make the feature every and from there be as competitive possible and hope to get some top fives. If we could get a win that would be totally awesome.”

The 2015 Wild West Modified Shootout kicks off at Southern Oregon Speedway on Saturday June 13th. The tour will wrap things up at Willamette Speedway on the 19th and 20th to close the speedweek out for the second straight year. Teams from Oregon, Washington, California, North Dakota, Montana, and British Columbia Canada are expected to make the journey.

All races will be broadcasted through Speed Shift TV and you can either purchase each race for $19.95 or buy the whole week for $99.95. Orders can be made onhttp://www.speedshifttv.com. Be sure and don't miss out on these great races featuring the best Modified drivers in the Pacific Northwest region.
