One of the drivers that is looking to defend his home turf is Albert Gill. Gill, of Medford, has been impressive in the current campaign scoring three victories at Southern Oregon Speedway where he is currently second in points. But he also suffered an injury at the Bill Mills Memorial in Madras which resulted in him breaking his thumb. He has since healed up and is determined to finish the year out.

“In my opinion I've had a great season,” commented Gill, “I try and continue to improve to get better each week.”

In 2014 he really turned some heads by winning the track championship at Southern Oregon Speedway in White City and Yreka, California's Siskiyou Motor Speedway in the same season. His only pit member has been under the weather lately but the Circle K Convenience Stores/Aardvark Construction/All Creatures Animal Hospital/Amps Full Service Plumbing & Excavating/Pete & Sandy Gruenberger/Rodgers Racing Engines/Hypnotic Custom Graphics/Mountain View Paving #89¢ Rayburn team will try and make as many races as they can. Sponsors Pete and Sandy Gruenberger will relocate to Arizona in the fall so you know that Gill will do his best to show his supporters that they are capable of running with some of the best in the business.

“I believe I have a chance just like anyone else to win but I'm happy just to finish in the top ten,” he would continue, “Pete and Sandy only have a handful of more chances to see us race up here so it would be nice to have a good run for them.”

The 2015 Wild West Modified Shootout kicks off at Southern Oregon Speedway on Saturday June 13th.
