Cottage Grove, Oregon- The Cottage Grove Speedway will be back in action on Saturday September 6th for the annual Wingless Nationals once again presented by Herz Precision Parts. Classes in action include the Northwest Wingless Tour, IMCA Modifieds, USAC Midgets, Northwest Extreme Modifieds, and Hornets. The IMCA Modifieds will be in action but it is not a point race.

The Northwest Wingless Tour have visited Cottage Grove Speedway twice in 2014 with Colin Baker and Jesse Thistle were the winners. From 2009-2013 (with exception of 2012 due to the event not taking place) Kyle Miller has been perfect during the Wingless Nationals. This Saturday he looks to score his fifth Nationals crown.

Braedon Hand, current IMCA Modified point leader, is atop the win chart in the current campaign with four while Mark Wauge has three victories. There is quite a list of drivers that have just a single main event win which include Tom Berry Jr., Kinzer Cox, Collen Winebarger, Nick Trenchard, Alex Stanford, and Jesse Williamson.

In Northwest Extreme Modified action there have been six different winners in six races. Scott Akin, David Schmidt, Braedon Hand, Justin Ryker, Gene Ashley, and Brandon Potter have been the victors. Will the first repeat winner of the year happen Saturday?

Chris Pierce and Taunton Swaim are tied for the most wins of the season in the Hornet division, each with five. K.C. Scott, Eric Cooper, Josh Corley, and Joe Maricle have visited the winner’s circle just once.

On Friday September 5th Kage Karts will be back in action coming off of the big King Of The West race last weekend. General admission to the Kart race is FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $35.00. The Pit Gate will open up around 3:00 PM and the Pit Meeting is at 6:00 PM with Hot Laps and Racing to follow.
