CGS To Have Another Class Added To Wall Of Fame; Fireworks To Cap The Night Off

Cottage Grove, Oregon- Saturday August 2nd will be another special day in the history of the Cottage Grove Speedway. Track historians Curt and Denny Deatherage will once again put on their massive display of photos, articles, and other memorabilia chronicling the long storied history of CGS, which started operating in 1956. Several people involved with the race track from decades past will be there to catch up with some of their old competitors and as well as their many friends.

It is definitely a one of a kind event that will include the induction of the Class of 2014 into the Cottage Grove Speedway Wall Of Fame. Below this article is a list of all the wonderful people that have been put in already and it is quite an impressive list.

Once all the racing is complete a FIREWORKS display will end the night’s activities. This is one of the most well attended events in past years so if you have always been curious on what some of the cars used to look like back in the 1960’s or who the drivers were to beat in the 1970’s be sure and make it to Historical Night. Classes that will be on tap include the Huddle Automotive Repair 360 Sprints, Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Hornets.

Tickets are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a Family Pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
