Cottage Grove, Oregon- We would like to formerly announce that the 2013 Cottage Grove Speedway IMCA Modified champion is Braedon Hand. This marks the fourth time that Hand has won a championship at “The Grove” and he did so this year by just a single point. The last race to count for points was on Sunday September 1st while the last time the class competed was on September 7th.
The September 7th race ended up being non-points due to the IMCA Supernationals in Boone, Iowa. IMCA also stops counting points on September 29th and the final IMCA Modified race at CGS this year is on Saturday October 5th. The race in October will be a non-point affair and will utilize the standard Cottage Grove Speedway format which includes qualifying, heats, a trophy dash, and main event.
The Cottage Grove Speedway has hosted fast and exciting action as far back as 1956. Since then the ¼-mile banked oval has been regarded as a place where fast times are set and plenty of side-by-side racing occurs. Regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hornets from the months of April till October every Saturday night. For more information be sure and visit the venue’s homepage www.cottagegrovespeedway.com or call the brand new Northwest Tracks Hotline at (360)-699-RACE.
