Mid-Season Championships

Racing action resumes this Saturday night, 6pm the post time at Airborne Park Speedway. Mid-Season championships are upon us, as the Ernie’s Discount Tools Sportsman Modifieds, Jeffords Steel Renegades and Busch Beer Mini Mods will battle regular distance races for double points in the event presented by Fidelis Care.

The Sportsman Modified point battle is tight at the top with Plattsburgh drivers Nick Heywood and Bucko Branham separated by just two points. Heywood leads and has scored five victories to this point in the season, while Branham has countered with two of his own. Heywood won the last event and as per the rulebook will have to start from the rear of this weeks feature event.

The Renegade point battle sees the all-time winningest driver atop the standings with three wins under his belt. Robert Gordon has been ultra consistent, finishing in the top five in nine out of ten attempts. Gordon has a 21 point lead over defending champion Richie Turner, who cashed in for his first win of 2016 last week.

Dale O’Neil has been stout in the Mini Mods, picking up six wins in nine tries and has built his lead to 30 over second place point man, Josh LaPorte.

Racing action will get under way at 6. Main gates will open at 3 with pit gates opening at 2. $10/Adults, $3/Kids(6-12) and $22/Family(2 Adults/ 2Kids). For more information, check our website www.airborneparkspeedway.com or on Facebook at Airborne Park Speedway.
