Having originated in America, the Late Models commenced in Australia during the late 1990s. Adopting the same car specifications used in America, Late Models comprise of a purpose-built chassis, powered by a V8 engine which produces more than 900 horsepower and mainly runs on methanol race fuel. The pinnacle class of speedway sedan racing throughout Australia, Late Models are solely built with speed in mind. With no limit on engine cubic inch displacement and a fairly unrestricted rule book, they draw a solid crowd following, due to their thrilling nature and the competitive racing they consistently produce. Late Model Racing Victoria has been in operation for over a decade now and they are committed to promoting the class throughout the state of Victoria to the highest standard - both on and off the track - in an effort to raise the profile of the class and also attract new competitors in the process.
