Forte Wins Wild Wednesday Night Dual At Willamette

Lebanon, Oregon- In addition to hosting the NOS Energy Drink World Of Outlaw Sprint Cars on Wednesday, September 4th Willamette Speedway had the ISCS Sprint in the house. The Interstate Sprint Car Series played the role of the support division. Eighteen cars reported for duty representing the states of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

The main event began with a big wreck in turns one and two on opening start. When things were all cleaned up, Shane Forte took full control of the race lead. The Junction City veteran was lightning quick and paced the field via the high side of the racetrack. The only thing to slow him down was a lap eight stoppage.

Shane briefly got held up with some lapped traffic in the later parts of the main event. It slowed him up just enough to be challenged by Steven Snawder. Snawder, of Roseburg, tried to make a pass on Forte only to spin and keep going. Shane Forte held on the rest of the way to win his second series race of the 2019 season. He also became the first two-time feature winner at Willamette with ISCS.

Tyler Thompson, from Harrisburg, was a close second over third finishing Tanner Holmes, of Jacksonville. Cottage Grove native Kinzer Cox placed fourth with Steven Snawder retaining a top-five position, in fifth.

Qualifying was divided into three separate groups. Earning quick time awards were Raquel Ivie of Eugene, Albany teenager Brody Sim, and Camden Robustelli from Medford. Earning heat races wins ended up being Shane Forte, Steven Snawder, and Grants Pass racer Jared Hood. The ISCS has one last event on their 2019 schedule, and it is on Saturday, September 28th at Coos Bay Speedway.

Willamette Speedway returns to racing Saturday, September 7th. Classes on the card include Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets. It is the last race of the year for the Hornet division.
