Lewis Picks Up Sixth in Sun Prairie

Sun Prairie, WI (July 29th, 2024) - Jackson Lewis crossed the line just ahead of his championship rival Jordan Miklas after a heart pumping twenty-lap feature at Angell Park Speedway. The driver of the #7L extends his lead in the points after his sixth win with the Midwest Legends Dirt Series Presented by Legends.Direct.

Twenty-five cars made the trip to the Sun Prairies’ Angell Park Speedway. Championship leader Jackson Lewis made the trip with the entire Legends.Direct crew in tow. Two drivers ran double duty on the night, with Jordan Miklas running a legends and wingless sprint car, and Parker Jones in a legends and midget.

The night started off with a joint hotlap and qualifying session. Michael Weber picked up the top time with Jackson Lewis second and Adam Zellmer third. Jordan Miklas and Ryan Sullivan rounded out the top five with the rest of the top ten looking like Colton Utley, Griffin McGrath, Hayden Schmuhl, Dallas Ross, and Charlie Spoonmore.

Heat races went to Michael Weber, Jackson Lewis, and Adam Zellmer. Weber started off out front in heat 1, fending off Watertown War Wagon teammates Jordan Miklas and Charlie Spoonmore for the win. Lewis walked away from the rest of heat 2 while Parker Jones and Ryan Sullivan battled out for second and third. Adam Zellmer picked up the win over Colton Utley by 0.052 seconds at the line, with Dallas Ross in third.

Jeff Schmidt started from the pole of the A-Main alongside Griffin McGrath on his outside. Schmidt led the field to green and managed to keep the spot for a few laps. McGrath fell down the order while Jackson Lewis began to move forward and by lap five, Lewis had the lead. Calamity struck on lap eight as a spin from Michael Weber caught up Adam Zellmer and Charlie Spoonmore, ending all three of their nights. Lewis led the field back to green with Jordan Miklas and Parker Jones in tow. Miklas slowly closed in on Lewis for the lead but could not get close enough to the leader. Quick cautions closed the field on the leaders, but no one had anything for the top three, with Jackson Lewis picking up yet another win on the season, with Miklas and Jones second and third. Ryan Sullivan and Schmidt rounded out the top five.

Jackson Lewis took home 25% off a Full Suit Fit from Rush RaceGear and a Buy-1-Get-1 Wheel Rim thanks to Aero Race Wheels. Brady Ascherien was the hard charger bringing home $100 off any purchase from Rush RaceGear and $25 from SunSet Auto. Charlie Spoonmore was drawn as the HMS Motorsports Sentry Receiver winner.

The Midwest Legends Dirt Series Presented by Legends.Direct will be back in action on August 2nd at Lafayette Speedway and August 3rd at Maquoketa Speedway.
