Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series 2023 Finale Set with Palmetto State 50 at Lancaster Motor Speedway Saturday November 18

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (November 14, 2023) – The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series will conclude the 2023 racing season with the tour’s first ever visit to Lancaster Motor Speedway in Lancaster, SC on Saturday November 18 for the Palmetto State 50, with the winner claiming a $10,000 payday. The event at the ½ mile clay oval also marks the tour’s first ever sanctioned event in the state of South Carolina. The event will be co-sanctioned with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series.

The Palmetto State 50 will take place at Lancaster Motor Speedway in Lancaster, SC on Saturday November 18 and will feature the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series co-sanctioned with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series in a full program of Denby’s J&J Construction Hot Laps, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Heats, Impact Race Gear B-Mains, and the 50-lap, $10,000 to win/$500 to start Palmetto State 50 Valvoline A-Main event. Other divisions in action at the Palmetto State 50 at Lancaster Motor Speedway on Saturday November 18 will be the Renegade Sportsman racing for $998 to win in the Lil’ Donnie Adams Memorial, along with Thunder Bombers ($600 to win), SCDRA Hornets ($500 to win), Pure Stock ($400 to win), Crown Vic’s ($300 to win), along with a Stock Front Wheel Drive Demo Derby ($1,000 to win).

Activities at Lancaster Motor Speedway for the Palmetto State 50 on Saturday November 18 will see the pit area open at 1:00 p.m. and the general admission area will open at 2:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 3:45 p.m., while hot laps are set to begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by time trials and green flag racing. Ticket prices at Lancaster Motor Speedway on Saturday November 18 in the general admission area will be $30 (children ages 12 and under are free), while a pit pass will be $40 for adults.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series and the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series will co-sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier NLMT 2/3/4 Only. (there is no limit on the number of tires used; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the standardized body rules of WoO/Lucas). The entry fee will be $110 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for a $10 rental fee at the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series trailer.

The Palmetto State 50 was last contested at Lancaster Motor Speedway in 2021 after being cancelled in 2022 and Ross Bailes of Clover, SC would become the first two-time winner of the event with his 2021 victory over Ben Watkins of Lancaster, SC, Brett Hamm of Newberry, SC, Carson Ferguson of Lincolnton, NC, and Michael Brown of Pageland, SC.
