Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series at North Alabama August 11 Postponed; Duck River and TST August 12, August 13 Still a Go

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (August 10, 2022)- The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Models Southern Series event that was scheduled for Thursday August 11 at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.

With already saturated grounds and the unfavorable weather forecast predicting a high percentage of rain throughout the day on Thursday, track officials at North Alabama Speedway and officials with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series felt it was in the best interest of the race teams and race fans to postpone the event to another date with the hope of a more favorable weather outlook at that time. The track and series are both looking for a suitable makeup date for the event.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series events scheduled at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN on Friday August 12 and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL on Saturday August 13 are still on as scheduled. The event at Duck River Raceway Park will be 40 laps in distance and pay $5,000 to win and $450 to start. The event at Talladega Short Track on Saturday August 13, the track’s Governor’s Cup event, will be 50 laps in length and pay $10,000 to win and $500 to start.
