Alex Truscinski and Dexter Dvergsten Winners at Greenbush with POWRi MKLS

Belleville, IL. (09/08/2020) Winding down the season of great racing for the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series with less than a handful of events remaining on the schedule, competitors would make the trek to Greenbush Race Park over the weekend for the annual two-day Labor Day weekend affair at the fast track. With two shows at the same venue, top drivers from all over the upper region would flock to Greenbush Minnesota as both Alex Truscinski and Dexter Dvergsten would add to their win totals in the 2020 racing season.

Saturday greeted POWRi MKLS drivers with some wonderful weather to start the weekend with Alex Truscinski bolting from a third-place starting spot and taking the lead on lap three. Alex would hold the top spot for the remaining twelve circuits, claiming his seventh feature victory of the season. Rounding out the top-five finishers on the first night’s feature were Alan Truscinski, Dexter Dvergsten, Kelsi Pederson, and Cody Swenson.

Back at Greenbush Race Park on Sunday, September 6th as changes in weather conditions would challenge the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint racers. Greeted with a chilling wind and a temperature in the upper forties the action on the track, however, was hot and intense as series point leader Dexter Dvergsten dashed from an inside row two starting position to take the feature lead on lap six. Dvergsten would cruise to his seventh feature win of the season, pulling back even with previous night's winner Alex Truscinski for most wins in MKLS feature racing this year. Outstanding action would ensue behind the leader as rounding out the top five were Cody Swenson, Kelsi Pederson, Alan Truscinski & Alex Truscinski.

The Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series has this upcoming weekend off before closing out the season in two weeks with a doubleheader to crown the 2020 champion. First up on Friday, September 18th River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota will try to contain these speedy lightning sprints with the entire season championship coming to a head on Saturday, September 19th at Devils Lake Speedway in Crary, North Dakota to determine who will emerge as the 2020 champion of the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints.
