Inside Line Promotions – LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (May 14, 2019) – Robbie Price captured his best result of the season last Friday during his debut at I-96 Speedway.

Price finished seventh at the Great Lakes Super Sprints show, which was also his first visit to the state of Michigan.

“We had good speed all night,” he said. “We qualified seventh overall and second in our group behind Tony Stewart. In the heat race the first start got called back so I got moved up to the front row. We won that to make the redraw.”

Price followed the heat race victory by drawing the No. 5 during the feature redraw. That lined him up on the inside of the third row for the main event.

“We changed some stuff on the car and just didn’t go enough,” he said. “I got a little squirrelly on the start. I was as far back as 10th I think. I ran the bottom for the first five or six laps. Then I started ripping the top in turns three and four and started driving around cars.

“I got back to around seventh near the midpoint, but the rest of the race was plagued by yellows. We weren’t that good on the short run. I got back to fifth on a restart and it got called back. We were good in traffic, but the last half of the race was just filled with cautions.”

Price’s seventh-place run gives him confidence and experience entering a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour doubleheader at I-96 Speedway this Friday and Saturday.

“That was the plan going up here,” he said. “We were in Indy and it was the shortest drive without going way out of our way (after last weekend’s ASCS National Tour race was cancelled because of wet weather). I was surprised with how tough the locals are. Michigan has a core group of drivers and some came from Ohio. The field was stout.”
