Inside Line Promotions – SIX NATIONS, Ontario, Canada (May 14, 2019) – Alex Hill has her fingers crossed for drier weather as she looks forward to visiting I-96 Speedway for the first time in her career this weekend during a doubleheader with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“The rain is really getting annoying, especially with all the traveling I’ve been doing and then not being able to race,” said Hill, who is a full-time college student in Los Angeles. “Last week I flew to Dallas to meet my dad and we were going to take the motor home to I-30 Speedway, only about four hours away. But when the races were canceled, we drove 22 hours back home to Canada. I spent Saturday night there and then flew back to L.A. on Sunday.”

With the soggy weather hopefully behind her, Hill is excited for her first visit to I-96 Speedway this weekend.

“I’ve never been to I-96, but I’m looking forward to going there,” she said. “I watched the video of my teammate, Dylan (Westbrook), racing there last weekend. It looks a bit larger than most tracks, which is what I like. It was also slick, which is sometimes kind of difficult for me.

“But I’m up for the challenge. Maybe Dylan can help me out with some tips. He’ll be at our home track (Ohsweken Speedway) on Friday, but he’ll be at I-96 on Saturday.”

Unfortunately, the recent cancellations have come at a time when Hill’s performance on the track was progressing.

“While the first part of our season didn’t go as well as we would’ve liked, we’ve been doing better lately,” she said. “I’ve been focusing on driving harder and being more aggressive earlier in the night. We’ve been drawing better, too, which always helps.”

Hill is also looking forward to dealing with fewer travel issues as her sophomore year at school draws to a close.

“I just took my last in-class final,” she said. “My mom and sister are here now and we’re leaving to go back home on Wednesday. It’ll be nice to be home for the summer.”
