Freeman Registers Fourth-Place Finish at Heart O’ Texas Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – WACO, Texas (Sept. 8, 2015) – Cody Freeman posted his 10th top-five finish of the season last Friday at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.

Freeman’s fourth-place result maintained his hold atop the TOWR championship standings with only two points races remaining this season.

“It was a good points night for us,” he said. “Our confidence is high going into the last two races.”

Freeman kicked off the night by struggling in a heat race, where he dropped to a fourth-place finish from his pole position.

“I just wasn’t driving it right in the turns,” he said. “I lost a spot every couple of laps. I knew I needed to improve in the main event.”

The heat race result lined Freeman up on the outside of the fourth row for the feature.

“We had a caution on the first lap, which moved me up a row,” he said. “Then I just worked my way up through there when I had the opportunity. We caught some lapped traffic and I was in a good battle for third place when we accidentally collided. We both kept going, but I ended up fourth.”

Freeman will use the momentum of his fifth straight top five entering this Saturday’s TOWR race at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas, where Freeman has picked up two victories and a second-place result during his three races this season.

“I like it because it’s a drivers track,” he said. “You can’t just stay in the gas the whole time. You have to actually drive and use throttle control.”
