Inside Line Promotions – SARVER, Pa. (Sept. 30, 2019) – Kerry Madsen produced his fourth top five of the season with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series last Friday during the BeFour the Crowns Showdown hosted by Eldora Speedway.

The Big Game Motorsports driver kicked off the marquee event at the oval near Rossburg, Ohio, by qualifying second quickest in his group following a lengthy rain delay.

“It was crazy because the Outlaws have a split draw and somehow every bad ass was in the first group (with us),” he said. “It was insane. We qualified well and won the heat. We drew the five in the dash and we lost a spot.”

The KI Crossbows backed driver lined up on the outside of the third row for the main event.

“I got a good start in the A Main and then I ended up passing Carson (Macedo) a bit later,” he said. “I was really good at the end, but ran out of time.

“(The rain early in the night) made the track a lot heavier, but you knew they were going to get it in regardless. You had to wait and be patient. The track had a really good cushion. It was a fun track in the A Main.”

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Lernerville Speedway during the Commonwealth Clash. Rain again wreaked havoc early at the event. Madsen qualified 17th quickest overall before he finished where he lined up – fifth – in a heat race.

“I messed up both laps off turn two so our qualifying time was a little off,” he said. “It rained and we were in the first heat so it was really sloppy. In the feature we started 17th and got to 12th. We should have gotten further up, but we weren’t good enough. We’re not transitioning when you need grip as the track slows down, but we’re working on it.”

Madsen and the team will venture to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., this Friday and Saturday for the Champion Racing Oil National Open with the World of Outlaws.

“Williams Grove is a tough track,” he said. “It’s extremely technical. We’ve ran good the last two times we were there so we found some confidence there.”

Madsen has finishes of third and sixth, respectively, during a pair of starts at Williams Grove Speedway this season.
