PPM Puts On Hard Charge at Jacksonville Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to the Midwest to pilot a car fielded by Levi Curry and Nate Charrons, Parker Price Miller would have a great afternoon on Sunday that saw him drive from 16th to 2nd at Jacksonville Speedway.
“It was great to get back to the Midwest and race with the guys like I did back in 2017,” Parker Price-Miiller said. “Nate and Levi put together an awesome car and it was great to go have some fun.”
With the show being ran on Sunday after torrential rain postponed it from Friday night, a draw show would be in lace and PPM would line up seventh in his heat race.
The Kokomo, IN driver would pick up one position on what was a narrow surface early as he tallied a sixth place finish.
With not many passing points to his credit, the youngster would move into the feature event where he would roll off the starting grid from the 16th position. After some extensive track work prior to the feature event, the 2016 MOWA Champion would get his elbows up as he carved his way forward.
Flexing his muscle, PPM would soon find himself inside the top-five and chasing after the lead trio of Paul Nienhiser, Joe B Miller, and Bill Balog. With second and third getting together, PPM would overtake the position and set his sights on the top spot.
Taking a couple of shots at Nienhiser on some late restarts, PPM would be unable to steal the win as he capped a hard charge with a second place finish.
Saturday night the team was in action at 34-Raceway in West Burlington, IA.
Timing in 21st quickest in time trials after being the fifth car to take a time, PPM would have a nice showing in his heat race as he charged from sixth to finish in the fourth position.
Moving into the feature event, Price-Miller would find himself deep in the field as he would take the green flag from the 17th starting position. On a slick surface, PPM would pick up a handful of positions in the opening laps before the track would begin to take rubber.
Getting into 11th, PPM would settle in and find the rubber and ride it out for the duration of the race as he would pick up an 11th place finish.
“Fun weekend, and I am really glad we go to get these two shows in,” Parker Price-Miller added. “Thankful to race with some really close friends and have a blast doing so.”
Price-Miller and his team would like to thank Indy Race Parts, HRP Specs, Chalk Stix, Howard Johnson of Lima, Maxim, Wilwood, and Keizer Wheels for their support in 2019.
BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 13, Wins: 0, Top 5’s: 1, Top-10’s: 1.
