Gary Scott was a local realtor, veteran, and avid sprint car driver. He was a regular at Knoxville and competed in the NSCA. He won the 1981 National Sprint Car Championships in Knoxville and ran with the World of Outlaws when they were in the area.
Gary Scott passed away in a tragic sprint car accident on May 2, 1982, driving his own car at the Knoxville Raceway.
