Cosner Begins 2020 Season with Battle at the Border in New Mexico

Matt Cosner kicked off the 2020 season on Friday evening at Vado Speedway Park (Vado, New Mexico) with the inaugural Battle at the Border. Drawing 42 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries for the three-day event, Cosner recorded the seventh fastest lap in his time trial group before placing 8th in his heat race. Needing a 3rd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the opening night feature, Matt posted a 5th place finish. Receiving a provisional into the $5,000-to-win main event, Matt Cosner jumped up three spots to place 23rd.

For the final round of the Battle at the Border on Sunday, Cosner fell two spots short of a transfer position in his heat with a 6th place finish. Coming one spot shy of a transfer position in his B-Main with a 4th place finish, Matt was granted a provisional into the finale. With $15,000 on the line, Matt Cosner passed nine cars in the 75-lap affair to place 16th.
