Putnam Finishes Third at Whynot
Josh Putnam entered a pair of events over the weekend in Arkansas and Mississippi.
Action opened on Friday night at Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Ark.) with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (Super Late Models). Twenty-nine entries were on hand for The Barn Burner at the 1/4-mile oval, and Josh won his heat race to earn the fourth-starting spot for the feature.
Putnam ran in the Top 5 for much of the feature before a flat tire late in the race relegated him to a 21st-place finish.
On Saturday night action shifted south to Whynot (Miss.) Motorsports Park for a $3,000-to-win Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event. With 26 Super Late Models in the pit area, Josh earned the 10th-starting spot for the feature.
During the course of the 40 lapper, he clawed forward to a third-place finish behind Jeremy Shaw and Neil Baggett.
Results from the event are available at www.COMPdirt.com and www.StateSeries.com.
