Pair of Top-5 finishes with Lucas Oil at Port Royal Speedway

On Thursday afternoon Chris Ferguson returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) to kick off the three-day Rumble by the River. After Mother Nature dumped a quick shower on the half-mile oval as hot laps were getting underway, Ferguson went on to lay down the eighth fastest time in his group before placing second in his heat behind Devin Moran. Earning the 10th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win opening night feature, Chris marched forward six spots to register a fourth place finish behind Tim McCreadie, Kyle Strickler, and Jimmy Owens with Kyle Larson coming in fifth. With continuous rain and an unfavorable forecast washing out Friday night’s event, Chris was one of 52 cars signed in on Saturday afternoon for the $15,000-to-win finale. Grabbing the third and final transfer spot in his heat race, Ferguson locked into the 16th-starting position for the main event. Wheeling his way into the Top-5, Chris passed 12 cars in the 50-lap affair to place fourth behind Kyle Larson, Brandon Sheppard, and Gregg Satterlee with Tim McCreadie coming in fifth.
