Amantea Primed for Three USAC East Coast Sprint Cars Races This Week

Inside Line Promotions – KUTZTOWN, Pa. (Aug. 2, 2022) – Joey Amantea has a trio of Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars races on tap this week.
The action begins on Wednesday at Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa., where Amantea will also pilot his micro sprint. Additional sprint car races are Friday at Bloomsburg Fairgrounds in Bloomsburg, Pa., and Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa.
“The last time we were at Action Track USA in the big car we ended up making the redraw even with a little mechanical trouble so I’m excited to see how tomorrow plays out,” he said. “Bloomsburg has treated us well with two top fives. And we were really fast at Selinsgrove at the beginning of this year. I think we can be a contender. I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned from racing some 410 races this summer and see how it affects the 360.”
Amantea has third-place finishes during USAC East Coast Sprint Cars races at Bloomsburg Fairgrounds and Selinsgrove Speedway this season.
He enters this weekend ranked fourth in the series championship standings.
Amantea competed in a micro sprint event at Action Track USA last Wednesday. He charged from 12th to sixth in a heat race and won the B Main before being caught up in a race-ending crash in the main event.
“We got up to the top 10 three different times, but then got demolished,” he said. “From a wreck before I had to restart at the back. I was passing two cars out of turn two and we got into someone who spun out and someone got into us. That ended our night early.”
