Amantea Capping USAC East Coast Sprint Cars Season This Weekend at Bridgeport Motorsports Park

Inside Line Promotions – MOUNT POCONO, Pa. (Oct. 24, 2022) – Joey Amantea will participate in the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars season finale this weekend.

Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Swedesboro, N.J., hosts Sprintoberfest, which features a qualifier on Saturday and a 40-lap feature on Sunday.

“We have a really good motor under our hood so I’m excited to break it out,” Amantea said. “We’re going for it and trying to win this thing. It’s a long feature so conserving and saving tires is big. If I can do that right and the cards fall in our favor hopefully we can come out with a win. I want to cap the season on a high note.”

Sunday’s main event will be the longest race Amantea has competed in during non-wing sprint car competition.

“The longest race I’ve been in is a 30-lapper so this will be new for me,” he said. “I’m excited to be a part of a longer race and to learn more about how the car and track changes over such a long run.”

Amantea enters the event ranked fourth in the championship standings thanks to one victory, nine top fives and 13 top 10s.

“I think as long as we finish we’ll end up fourth,” he said. “Judging by how the year went I’m pretty happy with fourth. We had some unfortunate DNFs and weren’t able to run two features so to have a top-five season is great.”

Amantea has earned results of sixth and fourth, respectively, during a pair of series races at Bridgeport Motorsports Park this season.
